Custom Codes are be default defined as text fields in ShipWeight. This can cause a problem when importing data through the Data File Import window if the importing source has numbers with scientific format (typically for very small or very large numbers, i.e.: 9.234E-5). This may lead the import to treat the value as a text instead of a number and can create problems when ShipWeight tried to calculate on these numbers after the import.
To avoid this problem, specify that the custom code you are importing is a number fields (then scientific numbers will work well). This is how to do it:
- Go to the "Import" tabsheet in the Data File Import window.
- Select the line with the custom code that is to be specified as number
- Select "Number" as the Field type property
- Click the "Edit" button to change the field type to number for the selected code

Remember that your new import definition may be saved with the "Save" button in this window.
